When the Youths under the Leadership of Mustaq, Sarfaraz and couple of other friends were trying to mobilize young & energetic minds, the question was who will be the right choices?
17 Youths were shortlisted after speaking & making them understand the challenges and our work to Empower our Community.
Marhum Shaikh Noor Mohammed hailing from Cuncolim & having a small business venture at Gandhi Market was involved in helping the local vendors and poor people in the vicinity with whatever difficulties they were facing at that time. When our Couple of youths approached him, he readily agreed to be a part of the group and has no hesitation to work with like minded youths. Coming from a low income category, he did not allow his financial position to deter his ambitions to work for upliftment of poor and downtrodden people.
He was soft spoken, smiling and helpful by nature. He worked hand in hand with all the working members of the Group. Many names were suggested when naming the group came in and Irfan’s Mufeedul Muslameen Youth Organization of Goa was selected & Noor Mohammed too gave his thumbs up. Under Mufeedul Muslameen, we did lot of commendable work like Free Medical & Medicine Camps, Islamic Quiz Competitions, Felicitation of Muslim Meritorious Students, Financial assistance to deserving Students etc, Noor Mohammed was always in the forefront.
Apart from Mufeedul Muslameen Youths, he had lots of other friends who admired his working style and commitment. He took a little backstep to devote time for Sunni Jamah Masjid, Cuncolim where he was elected as the President during a brief spell but, was available whenever needed. He also contested Cuncolim Municipal Council Elections in his last year’s. He lived a full life, it maybe a short one.
Mufeedul is a Journey of Empowering our Community and we are dedicatedly working to realize many goals we undertake from time to time. Marhum Noor Mohammed was a part of this Journey but, he is no more now & we too will become a history someday but, the Journey will continue, In Sha Allah.
May Almighty Allah accept all his supplications and bless him with Jannah in the Heareafter.

Mufeedul Muslameen Youth Organization of Goa was in its twilight years(2002) and young/energetic team was raring to do extra ordinary things to Empower our Community in Goa. We remember in those years, we wanted to expand our base all over Goa by forming Sub-Committees in different Cities/Villages and we were going place to place with our message. In Sanguem, we contacted Shaikh Imtiyaz and Team to help establish our Sub-Committee there. In that Meeting, we met Prof Sayed Suleman a person who listens more & speaks less but, to the point. After understanding our work/mission, he agreed to work with us & from there, there was no looking back. From Professor to Principal at _ Higher Secondary School, Shiroda & so was his journey from member of Sanguem Sub-Committee to State member to Trustee in Mufeedul Foundation.
He provided all his expertise based on his knowledge to build Mufeedul Muslameen, Aasra and our Unani Medicentre. He was almost regularly present for our monthly meetings, planning and execution work. We miss him a lot, his important suggestions, his style of talk, his concentration on agenda discussed… At 52 he was struck with Covid complications, admitted at GMC and he died there. Our Members Irfan, Muzaffar, Zia were on regular visits to encourage & to give solace to him but, when the appointed time comes, one has to leave this World behind.
May Almighty Allah accept all his supplications and bless him with Jannah in the Heareafter.

Born to a famous Muslim personality working at Margao Municipal Council Kamr Yusuf, Furkan Shah needs no introduction. He was active in social field, right from his youth days. Mufeedul Muslameen Youth Organization of Goa was already a formed Organization when Furkan was introduced into the Organization as a Member. Mufeedul Muslameen Members were searching for active, committed and experienced Youth to feel the void of some members, who had left to make their careers in & out of Goa. From the day one, Furkan showed his eagerness to work for the Humanitarian cause. Aasra was born before he joined but, the challenges faced by the members in running, raising finance, making things happen was becoming a nightmare. Furkan Shah understood the situation & offered himself as a compatriot, counselor, teacher for Aasra. As Parents, we want to give every possible things/help to our Children and want to see our children climb the ladder of success. Furkan Shah was a proud father having 3 Children and he saw the same thing in Aasra Children and from here started a love for the children of Aasra. He took interest in Children’s upbringing-education, career, outings, extra curricular activities etc, you name them and you would find Furkan in the forefront. Aasra facing finance crunch was impossible as Furkan was there to make it possible. He was 24×7 superactive member of Mufeedul Muslameen Youth Organization of Goa and its Aasra.
When Founders of Mufeedul Muslameen taught of forming a TRUST called Mufeedul Foundation, Furkan Shah can never be left back. When this TRUST started its first project Mufeedul Ayush Medicentre, Malbhat Furkan Shah provided all his help in running the said Medicentre. He was a first to develop the idea of Niz Goenkars Muslim association and brought it into existence. It hurt him to see non Muslims speaking against Muslims or calling them Bhailey & to show that Muslims are the oldest community staying in Goa, he worked tirelessly under Niz Goenkars Muslim association. Many Muslims brought hurdles in his path but, it did not deter the determination of Furkan Shah as he moved ahead taking Niz Goenkars alongwith him. His last event of 19th December, 2022 under Niz Goenkars Muslim association & his overwhelming, confident speech will be always remembered. That Program brought the idea he wanted to convey & his future plan was a class action which would have been a totally different, a true Goan way. He left us in between, keeping all of us dumbspell. 31st December, 2022 Furkan Shah died in a tragic accident and that shock death brought tears in everyone’s eyes, who knew him and his work. He was also active in Goan Taxiwalas cause & leading Human Rights Organization of India.
Furkan Shah is no more in this World but, he is in our Hearts and his smile, his style of work will continue to guide us in taking Mufeedul Muslameen, Mufeedul Foundation to a new glory.
May Almighty Allah bless our dearest friend with Jannatul Firdaus and give strength, patience to family to fulfill his dreams.
